A brutal clash over land ownership shook Narendrapur’s Gadgacha area late Saturday night when a young man was viciously attacked. According to reports, the violence erupted from a longstanding dispute over the possession of agricultural land.
The victim was allegedly confronted by a group of attackers who assaulted him with bricks, leaving him with serious head injuries. In a horrifying escalation, the attackers reportedly shoved a gun into his mouth, threatening to kill him if he didn’t back off from the disputed plot. The victim, bleeding and in critical condition, was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Residents say the incident has left the locality gripped with fear, especially as the attackers fled the scene and remain at large. Police from Narendrapur station have begun an investigation, collecting statements and trying to track down those responsible. The incident highlights rising tensions in rural property disputes, many of which turn deadly when not addressed early.
Local authorities are facing pressure to ensure safety and justice, as angry villagers demand swift arrests and police patrolling in the area.
